USA / 150Min. I don't know what it is, but this is an incredibly charming production. Best I've seen, ever. Like, everyone is just acting out a story through dance, no-one's trying look sexy or pretty, or famous. Maybe it's just the way it was filmed? But everyone looks like they're legit dancing, none of that posing 'look-i'm-so-sophisticated-and-aetheral' nonsense. Just clean, pure dancing. And the prima-ballerina is charismatic as all-get-out.
Watching this performance, one can't help but think: Who needs sex? Just become a conductor. At my company I dance at for performances everyone is like I want to be Clara And sure it is a beautiful role and you have to be extremely talented to be Clara but in all honesty I want to be a rat it's one of my favorite roles and some of my favorite music. When he was a child, in 1984 his mother took him to Bolshoi to see Nutcracker. He pointed at the stage and told his mother he will be that Prince on that stage. Arkhipova was dancing in that production. Exactly 10 years later when he was 20 he debuted as Nutcracker Prince at Bolshoi and his first ever partner there was. Natalia Arkhipova so he holds a special place for her in his heart. Then at the interview he showed a small clip of her dancing in 1989 production so I started looking and found it. Thank you. PS, I wish their Nutcracker from 1994 was available to see.

Without thinking, i was walking around on my tippy toes in an elegant way, jumping from place to place. - ! 42 ... This has and always will be my favorite ballet! Saw it as a little girl on VHS. After I became obsessed with ballet (there were no schools near my town) my mom would always take me to the city to watch the Nutcracker every Christmas! I am self teaching myself ballet even if I am an adult. I love Ballet and have so much respect for these dancers. Not as great as nina kaptsova's. 1:29:23 My favourite scene 🥰. There are some dance moves which look decidedly Asian... Since this is a Russian ballet and dance company, to be expected. BRAVO for a fine performance! It never ceases to amaze me how Russia- a land of class hatred, social distinctions, poverty, and governmental violence against citizens- could come up with such beauty. Who downvotes this ? I have questions.
